Food stuff Company of India and other procurement businesses have procured 222.33 lakh tonnes (lt) of wheat till Sunday in the course of the current rabi advertising and marketing year versus 77.fifty seven lt in the corresponding time period final year, an official assertion explained on Monday.
Punjab, which witnessed some preliminary hiccups because of to the protest by fee agents in the State, surpassed other States and managed to procure as much as 84.15 lt till Sunday. Haryana and Madhya Pradesh, which commenced procurement early, on the other hand, notched up 71.seventy six lt and 51.fifty seven lt, respectively.
The initial-ever procurement year which observed immediate lender transfer of procurement payment in Punjab resulted in farmers obtaining ₹8,one hundred eighty crore in their lender accounts. In the region, as a complete, 21.74 lakh farmers gained a whole of ₹43,912 crore toward wheat procurement payment, the assertion explained.
