Kasaragod-based Central Plantation Crops Analysis Institute (CPCRI) has launched an on the internet instruction programme — Kalpa Graduate Readiness Programme — for last year BSc (Agriculture/Horticulture) college students from across the state.
Speaking at the launch of the on the internet instruction programme, K Muralidharan, Head (Performing), Social Sciences, CPCRI, mentioned that the 12-7 days-prolonged Kalpa Graduate Readiness Programme is an hard work to empower young specialists on the most recent systems for creation and processing of coconut, arecanut and cocoa.
Stating that the perennial crops have a lot of intricacies, he mentioned, college students could not have learnt these intricacies thoroughly through their degree system. This programme has been created to bridge that hole.

Far more than 1,650 college students from eighteen states have, till now, enrolled for this on the internet instruction programme, he mentioned. The registration closes on Sunday.
Inaugurating the on the internet instruction programme from Delhi, BK Pandey, Assistant Director Common of the Indian Council of Agricultural Analysis (ICAR), mentioned this programme will offer a system to the aspiring graduate college students of agricultural and horticultural sciences to know extra about plantation crops.

Plantation crops this sort of as coconut, arecanut and cocoa have a profound influence on the rural financial system, as they assistance the livelihood of 25 million people today in the state. They also assistance the national agrarian financial system with the contribution to the tune of ₹14,200 crore to the gross domestic product or service, he mentioned.
Welcoming the contributors to the on the internet instruction programme, Anita Karun, Director (Performing), CPCRI, highlighted various initiatives of CPCRI in the plantation sector.
