Below is an assortment of photos submitted by Maryland Wildland Fire Crew members MDS#1 from the Turtle Lake WFU Fire. The Turtle Lake Fire was started July 7th, 2006 by lightning and was discovered July 13th in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, part of the Superior National Forest. A few days later MDS#1 was dispatched to help control the fire. Eventually the fire grew to 2085 acres before rain and efforts from assigned fire crews brought the fire under control.
