NIFC Situation Report(National Interagency Fire Center). Adobe PDF file. This is an excellent source during the fire season of information on all large active wildfires in the United States. You can also find a version of this same report in a HTML format.

Large Fire Map. NIFC has a link to the USDA Remote Sensing Application Center which compiles a nice map of all the current Large Wildfires currently burning within the United States on a daily basis. For Maps of individual fires, check out the GeoMAC website.

NICC Geographic Area Coordination Center website. The National Interagency Coordination Center has a webpage with links to all the regional or geographic area coordination centers throughout the United States. These websites very often have the most up to date information on large fires burning within their region. A great way to find out the most up to date information on a specific fire the Maryland Wildland Fire Crew has been assigned too.

IARR Crew Status Report. Adobe PDF file. This report tracks the movement of Interagency Crews of which the Maryland Wildland Fire Crew is one. Check this report when the Maryland Crew is out on assignment during the fire season since very often their status can be tracked on it. The Maryland Crew mnemonic is MDS#.

WildlandFire.com is the place to go for all kinds of Wildland fire information including a great discussion forum and an excellent selection of links. If you haven't been to this website, you need to check it out.

Maryland DNR Website has a section on the Maryland Wildland Fire Crew program and has some information discussing the Forest Fire Protection programs within the state of Maryland. This is a good place to start if you live in Maryland and are interested in finding out more about the crew.

The USDA Forest Service Fire & Aviation website is the ultimate resource on the Forest Service's national effort to fight wildfires safely and efficiently. A great starting place to find out more about wildland firefighting.

The AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps in the last few years has had members on many of the Maryland Wildland Fire Crews assembled and sent out west to aid the national wildland firefighting effort. This is just part of the many incredible projects these fine young men and women work on to serve the community.

The Maryland Conservation Corps in the last few years has had members on many of Maryland Wildland Fire Crews assembled and sent out west to aid the national wildland firefighting effort. The MCC is sponsored in part by the Maryland Park Service (part of the Maryland DNR). Many wildfire trained members also participate in local prescribed burns around throughout the state of Maryland.

Frederick County Fire Crew has a website for members to keep up to date on news and and upcoming events.
